This page lists all known programs that appear on various "Educational Computer" Famiclones. Along with these programs, "Educational Computers" were also bundled with pirated early NES/Famicom games, most commonly Donkey Kong Jr. Math.

Asder[]

Balloon Monster[]

Variant of a previously-released Famicom/NES game; modified to read graphics off of CHR-RAM (whereas the original used CHR-ROM).

Calendar[]

Calendar program with a prehistoric theme; only features dates from 1995 to 2004. Appears to be compatible with a printer.

Keyboard Practice[]

Keyboard game where the player hits the keys that the game tells them to hit. Some versions of this program replace "ASDER" with "GENIUS" while others completely blank it out.

Mathematics Test[]

Math game where the player can select a set of math problems to complete. Ranging from simple subtraction and addition to long division. Depending on how well the player does, a boy below the equations reflects it with emotions ranging from happy to sad.

Message Board[]

Text editor with a background depicting a tree, a deer, and a woodpecker.

Music Appreciation[]

Music player with classical songs. Some versions remove the "ASDER" text or replace the songs with music ripped from Subor Chinese and English Computer Learning Card (v4.0).

Music Board[]

Simple music making tool.

Typing Game[]

Whack-a-mole game where the player hits moles by pressing the corresponding key on its hat. The program reuses graphics from Hit Marmot. A modified version of the program is used in Dance Master. Remade for the VTxx-based V-Mega Famiclone.

Typing Program[]

A typing game where the player chooses to type one of five articles.

Beijing XKD Development Centre[]

Apple Chess[]

Port of the Windows game, Reversi, with different graphics. Like many other ports of Windows applications, the program features Windows-styled bars at the top of the screen. Notably, a discolored version of Mario appears on the lose and win screen. A version of this program was created by Waixing and released as both a standard NES and VT03 game.

Solitaire[]

Port of the Windows game, Solitaire. Two versions are known to exist which feature minor graphical changes. Like many other ports of Windows applications, the program features Windows-styled bars at the top of the screen. A version of this program was created by Waixing and released as both a standard NES and VT03 game.

Tetra-Vex[]

Port of the Windows game, Tetra-Vex. Like many other ports of Windows applications, the program features Windows-styled bars at the top of the screen.

Bravesoft[]

CD Player[]

Music player with classical songs. Some versions are in English while others are in Chinese. The English version has 4 more songs not seen in the Chinese version. The 10th song sounds very similar to a song used in Nice Code's Commando.

Match-Pic[]

"Memory-Match" game. Some versions replace the bird with different characters and objects such as a skull mask.

Typing School[]

Series of typing games which are commonly put under different names such as Keyboard Exercise and Learn To Type. VTxx conversions of these games were also made for the V-Mega Famiclone. In Typing School 1, the player types out letters. In Typing School 2, the player types out letters to destroy paratroopers before they destroy the player's cannons. Uses a rendition of Red River Valley. In Typing School 3, the player types out articles.

Word Game[]

Educational game where the player controls an elephant and attempts to blow water into a falling bird egg. Upon hitting an egg, a word and a matching picture appear, cycling through one item for each letter of the alphabet. A reprogrammed variant known as Eggs was released by Nice Code Software, which replaces the elephant with either Pikachu or a robot (depending on the variant).

Concert[]

Music player with songs taken from Subor Chinese and English Computer Learning Card (v4.0). Multiple versions of this program are known to exist with completely different interfaces. The most common one uses a CD Player on a starry background. Other versions steal Asder's interface, while another uses a interface with a song list above the CD Player. There is also a VT01 conversion with a different list of songs not seen in a preexisting Subor cart.

Dancing Brave[]

Also known as Dance Girl. A version of Hot Dance 2000 with only three songs, Butterfly, Boys, and Boom Boom Dollar. The backgrounds were later used in Twin Dancers.

Karaoke[]

Version of the karaoke game featured in Subor Chinese and English Computer Learning Card (v5.0)'s AV Word Blaster. Only two or three songs are included

Melody[]

Music player completely separate from Concert. Some songs are taken from Subor Chinese and English Computer Learning Card (v3.0).

Gamesoft[]

A set of four games under the "Gamesoft" label were released in the mid-to-late 1990s. These titles seemingly originated for higher-end Famiclone computer systems by Bung Enterprises and BBK Electronics. The Gamesoft label may be connected to Xianfeng Cartoon, though this is unconfirmed.

Architect[]

Simple scene builder where the player can create a scene with either Victorian, ancient Chinese, or modern architecture. Oddly, all extra pieces are only meant for modern.

Facemaker[]

Simple face maker. Features no title screen.

Stave Compose[]

Simple music composer.

Wa Di Lei (挖地雷)[]

A variant of Minesweeper featuring largely-original graphics. The original version of this game is controller-based, and locks the player's cursor movement to individual tiles. A later revision uses an external mouse, and features free cursor movement; this version also adds a Windows-like bar at the top of the screen (reading "MINE").

A variation of this game titled Mine was developed by Nice Code Software, which features graphics closer to the original Windows version(s). It is unclear whether this is a hack or a fully-reprogrammed version.

Shenzhen BHD Electronic Co., Ltd[]

A company who developed reprogrammed versions of preexisting "Educational Computer" games such as Apple Chess as well as the software used in both Lite Star's Mega Book series and Nikita's PC Vivaz. Both companies plastered their brand names on the software set. Some of BHD's games were also remade for the V-Mega Famiclone.

Do Re Mi[]

Port of a minigame seen in the Go! Go! Connie-chan! Asobou Mouse plug & play. It is an adaption of Simon featuring ghosts playing flutes.[1]

Dragon[]

A port of the Windows version of Freecell, based on the same engine as the Solitaire game.

Elephant Catching Eggs[]

Reprogrammed version of Word Game.

Excel[]

Port of the Windows program of the same name. Likely for copyright reasons, the program is also known as Excellent.

Frog Memory[]

Port of a minigame seen in the Go! Go! Connie-chan! Asobou Mouse plug & play. The player must uncover matching characters on flipped-over signposts.

Geometry[]

Educational program where the player selects shapes and polygons and the program tells the player what they are. Uses Chip from Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers.

J&J English[]

Game where the player selects the object in a scene that matches with the word below.

Learn Number[]

Program where the player clicks numbers and that amount of a given object is shown.

Match-Pic[]

Reprogrammed version of Bravesoft's game.

Piano[]

Simple piano program.

Roller Math[]

Gambling game where the player bets and spins a slot machine before answering a simple math problem. Also known as math game.

Solitaire[]

Version of Solitaire.

SOS[]

An adaption of the paper-and-pencil game of the same name.

Stick Fever[]

Gambling game where the player bets on if they can select the picture corresponding with the word on the left.

What is PC?[]

Program where the player selects parts of a computer and is told what they are. Uses music from Donkey Kong.

Word[]

Port of the Windows program of the same name.

Xianfeng Cartoon[]

Shuxue Jiaoshi[]

Math game where the player checks answers instead of solving them. The player can also choose to be a rabbit, cat, dog, owl, or gorilla.

Xinji Zhanjiang[]

Math game where the player controls a ship and must shoot the missile with the solution to the math problem at the top of the screen.

Zhili Pintu[]

Also known as Play Toy Pictures, Caucigrama and Puzzle. A slide puzzle game with 15 puzzles featuring stolen versions of popular cartoon characters such as Garfield.

unknown LPC chip company[]

A company who is characterized to commonly use LPC-chips in their software as well as a line of anthropomorphic animals, ironically, bad English and pronunciations, and earsplitting music. There seems to be both a later set and an earlier set which lacks the anthropomorphic animals and has better music. Examples of cartridges that feature this set are the MXMDHTWO 18-in-1, Sunsonic Educational Computer Learning Card/English Word Blaster, and GameStar Smart Genius Deluxe. The company seemingly also made the UI used in GameStar's cartridges.

Arithmetic[]

Simple 2-digit addition and subtraction. The background has monkeys dancing on a mountain.

Calculate[]

Simple 2-digit division. The background seems to represent a scene for Journey of the West.

Chinese Initial Consonants[]

The player controls a dog at the bottom of the screen and has to throw rocks to hit a balloon with an English initial consonant.

Chinese Vowels[]

The player controls a caveman and must shoot a bubble with an English vowel.

Dialogue[]

Speech program where the player selects a chapter and a dialogue string that the LPC chip reads out.

Dictate[]

The player types a version of a word without the missing letters.

English First[]

Educational program meant for young ages. The letters of the alphabet appear as bricks. The player can select read, write, or both. The LPC chip will read the letter or the letter will be traced.

Fast Remember[]

The player has to remember the word that appears on screen and type in the word when it disappears.

Fillword[]

The player types the missing letter from a word.

Hobby Math[]

Board game themed around travel, contrary to the name. Every turn, the player needs to solve a math equation to get points.

Melody[]

Music player with off-key renditions of classic public domain songs.

Phonetic[]

The player selects either vowels or consonants from a leaf and the LPC chip reads them.

Remember Meaning[]

The player is shown words next to their definition before being asked what they mean.

Spanish-English Dictionary[]

Simple Spanish-English Dictionary.

Select English-Thai Words[]

The player has to select the Thai version of an English word.

Select Thai-English Words[]

The player has to select the English version of an Thai word.

Spelling Literacy[]

The player needs to spell a Chinese character in English.

Test[]

The player has to select the answer that fits best with the sentence.

Simple Thai-English dictionary.

Type Word[]

The player types the word on screen and read by the LPC chip.

Vocabulary Test[]

The player has to select the word that matches with the word in English.

Unknown[]

Alphabet[]

Program to illustrate how to write the letters of the English alphabet on paper (uppercase and lowercase). A seemingly-earlier version features artwork of a girl and a dog; an alternate version has the letters written on the sail of a ship.

Dialogue[]

Educational program which features 9 scenes staring anthropomorphic animals which feature dialogue which is read by the LPC chip. Remade for the V-Mega Famiclone.

Gamble King[]

A Poker game. The original version features a title screen, though the majority of later releases do not.

History[]

Contrary to the name, a program featuring storybook versions of Cinderella, The Lion and the Mouse, and The Honest Woodcutter. The stories are narrated by the LPC chip. Also known as Classic Stories. Remade for the V-Mega with an additional 2 stories added.

Memory Blocks[]

A card-matching game.

Mine[]

Alternately labeled Minesweeper; it is a port of the Windows game. The playfield graphics have considerable lag when setting off a large chain of tiles, making it rather cumbersome to play. Likely a Beijing XKD production, though this is unconfirmed. A variant of this program was released by Waixing as a standard NES game.

Quick Count 24[]

An adaption of the card game 24.

Shuffle Puzzle[]

A basic slide puzzle game using numbered tiles. A reprogrammed variant known as just Puzzle was released by Nice Code Software.
