Aladdin's gameplay (Super Aladdin version)

Unlike the Hummer Team game this shares its name with, (but like Aladdin II) this is a port of the Mega Drive version rather than the SNES one. The gameplay of this port is often cited to be the second best port, as Hummer Team's game is the first best. And is also considerable to be more programmed than the offical NES game by Virgin Interactive. although this version is only four levels long, But like other Super Game games; the controls do not respond well at all, jumping is akward. Unlike Aladdin II, the story is included in this version. The gameplay mechanics and collision detection are considerably better than that game. However, the collision detection in this game is somewhat flawed, with Aladdin being able to get stuck inside platforms. The graphics and music are taken from the original game and simplified. However, the animation for the jar-throwing enemies in Agrabah Market is glitched. Although later Super Game games don't have endings, this game has one; the ending is an 8-bit version of the Genie popping out of a page, saying his famous quote: "Made You Look!", and then the game resets.

Trivia

  • On the help screen, "Princess" is misspelled as "Prineess"
  • At least two versions of this game exist, with the first being most faithfully accurate to the original game ('Aladdin') and the other one being released on a more simple mapper with half of the game ripped and several pictures taken from Mega Drive version of Prince of Persia ('Super Aladdin').
  • A version of this was repackaged and re-released by an unknown group as "Super Aladdin II" for Game Boy Advance. It uses a hacked verison of PocketNES and includes the Super Aladdin version of the ROM. The options screen has the credits "Modified by Zhougeng@163.net".
