BBK Electronics

BBK Electronics (Chinese: 步步高电器 bubugao dianzi, in full 广东步步高电子工业有限公司) is a Chinese electronics manufacturer founded in 1995 by Duan Yongping, former CEO of Subor.

Overview

The company mainly released products under the Liko brand. BBK's early products included computer Famiclones (NES clones) similar to Subor's previous products, featuring floppy disk support, expandable memory and a full implementation of DOS. BBK made a deal with Simba's Video Games which made Simba's a distributor of BBK's products in Russia.

The company would also release various Genesis/Mega Drive clones including the Magic Drive, various products released by Simba's Video Games, and the AB701 Game VCD, a VCD player licensed by Sega, which doubles as a Genesis/Mega Drive clone.

Pirated releases

BBK would also released a line of pirated games branded after the Magic Drive. All games in this set use the same template for their boxes and the cartridges themselves.

• Initially their name was abbreviated as BBG - not to be confused with another BBG, "Bitter Brain Group", which was connected to Inventor.
