Backkom is a hack of Chiki Chiki Machine Mou Race (Japanese version of Wacky Races) based on the animated TV series Bernard. This hack was likely developed by Wellminds, with its first known release being on the "BL-826A" 168-in-1 handheld system.
Overview[]
Muttley is replaced with Bernard, and Dick Dastardly (in the cutscenes and game over screen) is replaced with Yuri/Pilot. The gems in the levels are now fishes; the first three items (bombs, barking, and wings) are replaced with grenades, ninja stars, and an undetermined third item. Based on the Japanese version, with all story text unaltered.
Trivia[]
- The game is sometimes labeled "Bernat 2" in multi-game systems, and has its title screen removed. The game was likely renamed in connection to Bernat: The Dream Master (labeled shorthand as just Bernat), a hack of Little Nemo that appears on Touch Game Player systems.
