Super Boogerman is a Famicom port of Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure, originally released for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo. It was produced by Super Game and published by Realtec.
Overview[]
The game is a recreation of the original Boogerman, but is considerably less faithful than Boogerman II: The Final Adventure, with a mixed-up level order and severely limited abilities for the player, which is compensated for by providing infinite ammo. It is noteworthy that the music in this game is completely original and does not sound like the soundtrack from the Genesis version.
Like many of Super Game's other bootlegs, this game has no ending; after the player defeats the final boss, the game returns to the story screen and then restarts.
Trivia[]
- The source code of this game was released by maxzhou88 and is available on his blog.
- Similar to the Super Lion King port, this game was later hacked to mapper 4. This resulted in numerous crashes and graphical glitches, the most noticeable of which occurs when you enter the sewers (the background of the level breaks). This version's ROM also contains some music glitches. Upon launch, the Super Game logo is replaced by a screen reading "Super Boogerman 1997".
