The D-CAT8 8bit Game Console, also known as Vangard 8bit GameCORE, is a handheld Famiclone console, initially released some time between 2004 and 2010. Its manufacturer is unconfirmed, but based on the console's name, it may be Dichroic Cat (Shen Zhen) Electronic Co., Ltd, also known as the manufacturer of many AtGames products.

The console would be followed by the D-CAT16, which is based on "Firecore" Sega Mega Drive/Genesis hardware.

Games[]

It has 100 built in games, consisting of a variety of hacks, Nice Code and other original games, as well as some unmodified Famicom/NES games. Notably it was the first console known to include 3 games linked to ex-Sachen developers: Jungle Adventure, a hack of The Panda Prince; Lair's Secret, a hack of Rockball; and Magic Block, a Tetris clone.

Other rarely seen games include Behind Enemy Lines, a Super Contra hack, and Super Shrek Bros, a Super Mario Bros hack.
