Dance Y2K is a clone of DanceDanceRevolution for NES/Famicom hardware developed by Hummer Team, and was planned to be released by ABAB Soft. It is completely unrelated to Finger DDR, Dance 2000 or BBD's Dance 2000 (Mega Drive).

Little is known about Dance Y2K as no evidence of it ever releasing has been found yet. A mockup picture of a multicart titled "Hot Dance 3-in-1" was once available on ABAB Soft's now-defunct website, with the other two games (Dragon Running and War of Strike Mouse) appearing seperately on some of Trump Grand's Power Joy consoles. All three games on this multicart were likely intended to be played on a softpad as the two other games do not use any buttons in-game other than the D-pad. Dance Y2K has only been confirmed to exist as unused data on a Power Joy cartridge.

Overview

The game is a simple DanceDanceRevolution clone where you can choose from one of 7 tracks ascending in difficulty. They are confusingly named "Simple", "Ordinary", "Moderate", "Superior", "Marvelous", "Ordinary", and "Simple". Even though the last tracks share the same names as the first two, they are the hardest tracks in the game. This and the game's complete lack of sound suggests the game or the version found on the Power Joy cartridge was not finished.

Unlike most other DDR clones for NES/Famicom hardware, the controls are very responsive, making the game much easier to play. The game only has a total of three dancers: a man wearing sunglasses with no shirt, a woman who is also depicted on the title screen, and an oddly suggestive woman wearing a jester hat and bikini.

Trivia

• Most of this game's assets such as the menu after the title screen and the dance level screen are also used in other Hummer Team games seen on Power Joy systems.
  • The difficulty select on the menu does not actually do anything. The only way to get a more difficult song is to select a harder one.
