Dragon Ball Z 5 is a bootleg Beat em' up for the Famicom, based on the Dragon Ball Z anime. It was released around 1995.
The game's story loosely retells the events of Dragon Ball Z up to the Cell Saga, featuring cut scenes using screencaps from the show.
The soundtrack featured is an 8-bit rendition of the Saint Seiya theme song. Also, the character select theme sounds similar to the song One Way or Another from the musical artist, Blondie.
One Eyed Robot
- The box art features Goku as a child and Piccolo Daimao/Demon King Piccolo, both from the original Dragon Ball, despite the game only focusing on Dragon Ball Z.
- The "5" in the title may be a reference to the "Dragon Ball Z Gokuden" series, which only had 4 entries, and the game was meant to be an "unofficial sequel" to those games.
- Although the box art says "Super Gokuden 5", the game's title screen says "Super Butoden 5".
