Forever Duo Games of NES 852-in-1 is a pirate Famicom/NES multicart from 2018, notable for containing a large number of games.
Overview[]
This multicart is the joint-largest Famicom/NES multicart known to exist, being 128 megabytes and including 852 games. 43 of the games are repeats, (alternate versions or hacks of other games included) and 9 games are unplayable on the initial 2018 version, possibly due to a programming error. The unplayable games have been fixed in the 2021 revision.
This cartridge has a working save battery. However, only one game can be saved at a time Launching any other game that uses SRAM will overwrite the save data. At least 54 of the included games support the save feature. The 2021 revision of the cartridge replaces the battery with a FRAM chip.
Games are presented as two lists - 405-in-1 and 447-in-1, in alphabetical order (although not always by their official title). Pressing 'Select' will switch the list. Pressing 'Left' or 'Right' will take the player to the previous/next menu screen and pressing 'A' or 'B' will skip 5 screens, or 75 games, at once. Most games are either the US versions or the Japanese versions translated into English. There are 18 PAL games, 3 of which are only playable on an official PAL NES. Thanks to the FRAM chip of the 2021 revision, the last selected game of each list will stay selected on the next reset or bootup.
Some unlicensed games are included on the cartridge such as Final Fantasy VII, Lei Dian Huang Bi Ka Qiu Chuan Shuo, and Super Maruo. Both Final Fantasy VII and Lei Dian Huang Bi Ka Qiu Chuan Shuo are using English translation patches.
The game list also contains 15 Zapper-compatible games, 8 Power Pad games, 2 Power Glove games, 2 Konami Hyper Shot games, 2 R.O.B. games, and 1 Miracle Piano game, some of which are unplayable without said accessories.
The first half of Forever Duo Games of NES 852-in-1 has been previously released separately as a 64 MB cartridge Forever Games of NES 405-in-1.
Forever Duo Games of NES 852-in-1 is complementary to the next 128 MB cartridge - Legendary Games of NES 509-in-1. There are only 112 games that are on both cartridges, making the total number of different playable games over 1200 (not counting repeats or unplayable games).

Trivia[]
- Battletoads (A#28) is known to crash at level 2 on many clone systems, and this is not the cartridge's fault. It will work fine on an original NES/Famicom and certain clones. The player can skip level 2 by using the warp in level 1. The hack, Battletoads & Double Dragon: On Ragnarok (A#29) has the same issue. Warp zones have been removed, but the player can use the level select code (Down, Up, Up, Down, A, B, B, A on the character selection screen) to skip level 2.
- Archon (A#13), Jordan vs. Bird: One on One (A#187), and WWF Wrestlemania Challenge (B#444) are known to crash on some newer Famiclones. This is also not the cartridge's fault. Like before, these games will work fine on original hardware and older clone systems.
- Ninja Gaiden (A#265) is known to crash after the level 1 boss on many clone systems. However, on this cartridge, it will run differently. It doesn’t crash at the same point but might crash at later cutscenes. Skipping cutscenes should allow the game to be completed on clones that usually have trouble running this game.
- Bee 52 (B#63), CJ's Elephant Antics (B#86), Pro Tennis (B#285), Stunt Buggies (B#363), Stunt Kids (B#364), and The Ultimate Stuntman (B#419) will crash on PAL Famiclones due to the region autodetection code within those games. They detect the clone's PAL speed and will attempt to run in the NES PAL mode, despite PAL clones actually running in a modified NTSC mode. They will work correctly on an official NES/Famicom or on an NTSC clone.
- Gyromite (A#155) can be played without R.O.B. by using the second controller.
- Hot Dance 2000 (B#207) includes 4 full games: Hit Mouse, Pac-Man, Arkanoid, and Pinball.
- This multicart couldn't have been released any earlier than September 5th, 2016. This is based on when the most recent ROM hack, Super Pitfall 30th Anniversary Edition (B#373) was first released.
