Kiddy Sun in Fantasia (孫小毛奇幻岛, lit. Kiddy Sun in the Mysterious Island) is an advanced hack of Hudson's Adventure Island (Takahashi Meijin no Bōken Jima) developed by HuEra, a joint venture between Hudson Soft and EraTech, and released by EraTech in the year 1987. It features the puppet character Sun Xiao Mao (aka Kiddy Sun) from the Taiwanese children show Gāgā wū lā lā (嘎嘎嗚啦啦) by CTS as the main protagonist.

The game itself is a rather advanced hack, with all the music and most of the sprites changed. Most notably, Master Higgins, who is now Kiddy Sun, who resembles Mario. The title screen is heavily changed, with the logo being static the entire time, with Kiddy Sun walking to the right before getting in a hot air balloon. Kiddy Sun throws what appears to be paint brushes and eats fast food instead of fruits. Enemies such as snails are now replaced with crabs, and the coyotes that sneak up behind Kiddy Sun are now wizards.
Instead of riding a skateboard, Kiddy Sun uses a bike. The fairy is also now a just a plus sign. The signs at the end of the stage are also removed, similar to the MSX version of Adventure Island. Some of the graphics (like ones seen in cave stages) have been simplified. The boss also seems to be a robot and the platform that carries the player up after defeating it, is glitched. The level order is also changed a little with things such as 1-2 being before 1-1.
Trivia[]
- The hack was seemingly supposed to be bundled with a Famiclone known as the Era Entertainment System, which was made by Era Tech themselves.
- Despite this game's obscurity, reproductions of it are known to exist, and are currently being sold on AliExpress.
- The Hudson Bee (which is replaced by a cash sign) gives the player level select instead of continues.
