Menace Beach (known as Miss Peach World in Asia) is a video game that was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Color Dreams in 1990. Like all Color Dreams games, Menace Beach was not officially licensed by Nintendo.

Menace Beach

According to the game's instruction manual, the player controls a skateboarding hero whose girlfriend, Bunny, has been kidnapped by Demon Dan. (the name is most likely a reference to Dan Burke, one of the artists at Color Dreams) An introduction screen shows a shackled Bunny pleading for the player's help. In the game, the hero must use his skateboard and any objects he finds, such as balloons, frogs, bombs, and bottles, to defeat ninja, clowns, Elvis impersonators and disgruntled dock workers before finally confronting the villainous Demon Dan. The game was made somewhat infamous because in between levels the girlfriend's clothes "rot" away until by the end of the game she is left in nothing but her underwear. Menace Beach also rereleased in its original form as part of the Maxivision 15-in-1 multicart.

Miss Peach World 1: Super LA Cop

Miss Peach World 1: Super LA Cop is a hack of Menace Beach credited to Dan Burke (although it's unknown whether he actually had a role in development) and released by Hacker International in 1991. In this hack, the game was translated to Japanese and Bunny was replaced with pornography.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday is a 3-in-1 multicart released by Wisdom Tree in 1995 and it was the last game produced by them. (and the last game to have been released for the NES in North America) This hack replaces Bunny with a Sunday school teacher, and the ninja and Elvis impersonator enemies were also replaced. The other two options on the menu are Fish Fall, which is Free Fall (a prototype version) with Bible quotes added and an 8-bit rendition of The Ride by 4Him.

Trivia

  • The game was originally planned to have a jet ski bonus round which was not included in the released version.
  • Many of Menace Beach's characters were based on Color Dreams staff.
  • A hidden message exists in Menace Beach Which can be accesed by first need to complete the game (or just use the level skip cheat). When the ending animation sequence ends and the message "PRESS A TO REPLAY SCREEN, PRESS START TO RESTART GAME" appears, press and hold Down + Left + Select. While holding these buttons, a sound will play 10 times, then 5 times in row. Immediately, the message will appear at the bottom of the screen. The message says:
"Stop! Hidden message time! I'd like to thank the following goofballs for being my buds. Keith the stick, Gary "Elvez" the master wordsmith, Rusty the surfing carrot top, Boobala the great, Karen Jo the spare dancing pool shark, and last but still lost, Jim the dude! Nina's last name is Bedner."
