The game is a port of either Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 or Mortal Kombat Trilogy, although the latter's logo appearing before the title screen and due to it being more recent at the time suggest it is a port of MK Trilogy. The music was mostly reused from Yoko Soft's Mortal Kombat 5, released in 1995 and the title screen music is an-off key rendition of the character select theme from the original Mortal Kombat. The "Bouns" typo was also carried over from MK5.

The game includes 10 characters, with some repeating: They are Sindel, Liu Kang, Kano, Sonya, Nightwolf, Kung-Lao, Stryker, Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung, who is referred as "Shang" in-game. Unlike the original, it is possible to perform a fatality in the first round. Also, when finishing the Sindel, the HUD says "Finish Him", while it is "Finish Her" with Sonya. There is only one fatality in the game, which involves smashing the opponent into gory little balls. The ending is a simple Congratulation screen bordered by the franchise's iconic dragon logo.

Title screen.

Mortal Kombat 5 is a pirated fighting game for NES, released by Cony Soft under their Hosekn alias in late (October-November) 1998. The game is infamous for its sausage-looking blood sprite.

The game includes 10 characters (although there is a version without the duplicates named "Mortal Kombat 4") with some repeating: They are Sindel, Liu Kang, Kano, Sonya, Nightwolf, Kung-Lao, Stryker, Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung, who is referred as "Shang" in-game.
