Mortal Kombat 5 is a pirated fighting game for NES, released by Cony Soft under their Hosekn alias in 1998. The game is infamous for its sausage-looking blood sprite.

Overview

This is a port of Mortal Kombat 3. The music was mostly reused from Yoko Soft's Mortal Kombat 5, released in 1995. The "Bouns" typo was also carried over from Mortal Kombat 5.

The game includes 8 characters with no repeats in the original version. They are Sindel, Liu Kang, Kano, Sonya, Sub-Zero, Stryker, Shang Tsung (who uses Nightwolf's headshot) and Kung Lao. Unlike the original, it's possible to perform a fatality in the first round. There is only one fatality in the game, which involves smashing the opponent into little balls. The ending is a simple Congratulation screen bordered by the franchise's logo.
