Pokemon Golden is merely a sprite hack of Tom & Jerry replacing Jerry's sprite with a strange looking Eevee. Although only the main sprite animation is supported for his jumping, walking, taking damage, and his main attack. (which is throwing marbles) When the actions for other weapons such as the hammer and the bubble, the Eevee sprite disappears and Jerry's sprite is visable. (This is a common mistake made in pirate sprtie hacks due to poor programming.) The stages bosses are also the same as the original, like level one's boss being Tom, is still Tom in Pokemon Golden. Jerry's name is also still written on the health bar area.
