Pokémon Leaf Green is an unlicensed platformer game for the Game Boy Color whose title is taken from the then-recent Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green. It was developed by Sintax and published by them in 2004.
Overview[]
The game is a standard platformer where the player controls Pikachu. He can run, jump and also whip his tail to fire a projectile at enemy Pokémon. Pikachu is able to take several hits which will deplete his health bar in the bottom left corner. Once it's completely drained the player dies. If that happens the continue screen pops up with a countown from 10, after which the game over screen is shown. The player then restarts at the beginning of the level. The final boss is Charizard who the player fights in a dedicated area. After you win, an end screen pops up for a couple of seconds until you're brought back to the title screen. There is no credits at the end, only the Sintax logo on startup before the title screen is shown.
Assets[]
The Pokémon sprites on the title screen, continue and game over screens are pulled from the second generation Pokémon games for the Game Boy Color. The grass and ground tiles in the first level are taken from Tiny Toon Adventures for the NES. The music has been ripped from Parasol Stars for the Game Boy.
