Subor Chinese and English Computer Learning Card (v5.0) (小霸王 学习卡V), also stylized as Subor V, is an "Educational Computer" cartridge for the NES/Famicom released as both a standalone cart and built into the BIOS of the SB96 and SB97 computers. It was originally released in 1996 by Subor. The cartridge is notable for being one of the only products developed by the Ex-Subor developers before leaving the company.

Subor's Learning Cards were designed for the mainland Chinese market, and were very popular in the region. Version 5.0 could arguably be considered as the version with the most amount of content, as later variants of this cart feature additional content not seen in the standard version. Totaling to 19 different programs on twice the size of Subor's other carts.

Overview[]

Version 5.0 features a total of 8 programs (in the original version) not seen on any previous cart, (besides F-BASIC) with some programs like Chinese and English editor being heavily revamped. Most of these programs are exclusive to this version. Exclusive to this version and 7.0[1], is the ability to add expansion carts to replace the middle program with a much bigger program. These attach to the end of the cart or the cartridge slot of the SB96 and SB97 computers.

The software opens with a title screen nearly identical to the intro for some Unchained Melody Multicarts, with the Subor logo at the top and a floating "V". After the giant Subor logo and V float away, the string "中英文电脑学习" appears. It translates to "Chinese and English Computer Learning Card". Shortly another string appears which reads "全国中小学计算机教育研究中心" and "特别推荐". This translates to "National Research For Primary and Secondary school computer education" and "Special Recommendation". When the cart starts (either automatically or by pressing a key) another string is shown, reading "正在检测,请稍等..." translating to "Detecting, Please Wait..."
