Super Monster Bros is a platformer for iOS and Android devices originally made by Adventure Time Pocket Free Games in 2013 and re-released in 2016.

Overview[]

Super Monster Bros is a platformer similar to the original Super Mario Bros., but instead of playing as Mario you play as various Pokémon. The game suffers from poor controls, and there are a variety of bugs that can hamper your progress. For example, you can easily get stuck in between cracks if you attempt to walk over them.

The playable characters are Charmander, Squirtle, an alternate green-colored Squirtle, Charizard and Blastoise, as well as Naruto from the anime series of the same name. The enemies resemble Caterpie, Koffing, Butterfree, Voltorb, Omastar and Bellsprout, with one of the bosses being a giant Mewtwo.

Some of the level layouts are taken straight from Super Mario Bros.. The sound effects are ripped from Super Mario World, along with Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

Super Monster Bros also has a very limited number of jumps and attacks. If you run out, you have to spend at least $0.99 to buy some more, although you can get some back for free by progressing through the level.

The game is filled with micro-transactions, one notable example being Charizard, who costs $99 to unlock.
