Tanki (Танки), or Танки: Новая Битва on the game's packaging, is a Russian clone of Battle City, created by TOF and published by Simba's Video Games for the Sega Mega Drive in 2010. It is built on the engine of the fan port of Battle City by Krikzz.
Overview[]

Gameplay.
The gameplay is similar to Battle City. The game has 2 modes: Arcade and Quest. The Arcade is a copy of the original Battle City levels with minor changes. The Quest consists of 10 unique levels with new mechanics. The game can also be played by two players. First, your goal is to destroy the enemies and protect your headquarters. There are also power-ups similar to Battle City. From level 4, soldiers appear on the map, which must be protected from enemies. From level 6, explosive mines appear that cannot be touched, otherwise the player will lose a life. These mines also destroy enemies. At the 9th level, the enemy's headquarters appears, which must be destroyed. Level 10 is a battle with an enemy tank that needs to be hit multiple times. After defeating the boss, a screen appears that says "Победа!" (Victory).
Trivia[]
- The cartridge with this game also contains the original Battle City by Krikzz, translated into Russian. When you start it, a screen appears with the items "Танки" and "Классика" (Classic). You can switch between them by pressing Up / Down.
- The engine of this game was later used to create World of Tanks and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. They were created by BMB.
- This game uses some sprites from the Namco arcade game Tank Force.
- Some sprites from the original Battle City by Krikzz remain in the ROM of this game without changes.
- Unlike Battle City, this game does not have animations for enemy tanks to appear.
- The game has problem with hitboxes. Sometimes tanks can pass through blocks. This bug remains from the original Battle City by Krikzz.
- When a player collides with a mine, a crash may occur that causes the game to restart.
- Sometimes a bug may occur in the game, when during a single game a second player may appear on the level. The same thing happens in Tanki 2011.

- This hack has no ending. After completing level 35, the game starts over again, but in a harder mode (similar to Battle City).
