Won-Si-In (원시인) is a port of Adventures of Dino Riki (Shin Jinrui: The New Type in Japan) for the MSX 1. It was developed and published by Zemina in October 1991[1].

Overview[]

The game is a direct port of the NES/Famicom game, albeit with the 4th and last level removed from the game. The soundtrack is also completely different. The player controls Dino-Riki as they attempt to finish each stage while avoiding and defeating enemies, stage obstacles, and bosses.

Each stage features tiles on the floor which turn into hearts for extra points, powerups, or wings which allow the player to fly. Notably, the game completely lacks Macho-Riki and no longer rewards any extra lives, making the game much harder. The order of each boss is also changed. Oddly, the last stage is much easier than the stage in the original game or the other stages in this port. Mainly due to the fact the player is given more powerups and the obstacles are easier to maneuver.

Unlike the original game, this port features an ending which oddly depicts a caveman which has no resemblance to Dino-Riki with the credits scrolling below.

In 1992, Zemina would announce Won-Si-In 2, but the game was never released. It is rumored to of been turned into Adventure Kid.

Trivia[]

  • The final boss seems to resemble Bowser from the Super Mario series.
